Tell us about the GSSE Conference and the topic that you are speaking on.

Today, we are gathered here at the Global Stainless Steel Expo 2025—now in its third edition—one of the largest expos dedicated to the stainless steel sector. I’m here to speak about the role of standardisation, which is crucial in boosting both the capacity and quality of stainless steel production in India. It also ensures that consumers receive reliable and high-quality products.

Why is standardisation so important for the stainless steel industry?

Standards are not just essential—they are enablers. They ensure uniformity, safety, and quality, and most importantly, they facilitate trade—both domestically and internationally. A well-defined standard builds trust in the product, supports manufacturing efficiency, and helps in exporting and importing with ease.

Any thoughts about the future scope of GSSE?

I truly believe this platform will continue to grow. I look forward to meeting everyone again at the next edition in 2027. It’s a great opportunity to exchange ideas, set future directions and reinforce the importance of standards in ensuring the stainless steel sector continues to thrive.
