Viraj Profiles and Avaada have combined forces to establish a solar power plant project in Maharashtra.

Viraj Profiles Pvt Ltd and Avaada have successfully commissioned a 130 MW DC Solar Power Plant in Soyagaon, Maharashtra, a significant step towards sustainable energy. The joint venture, initiated in March 2023, aims to power 40 per cent of Viraj Profiles’ operations with solar energy by mid-2024. 

This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to renewable energy and sets a precedent for India’s steel industry. Through close collaboration, both companies have demonstrated effective planning and dedication to environmental responsibility, marking a significant achievement in their sustainability journey.

Viraj Profiles is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of stainless steel long products in the world. With a turnover of US$ 1.5 billion, the company is exporting its stainless steel products to more than 1300 customers based across 96 countries spread in 6 continents. With a melting capacity of 528,000 tons per annum, the company produces more than 50,000 SKUs in different shapes and sizes with grades like austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, duplex and electrode.
