Jindal Stainless Partners with Architecture & Design Film Festival for South Asian Debut at NCPA Mumbai
Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel manufacturer, has made a significant mark by partnering with the Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) for its South Asian premiere. Held at the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai from January 10–12, the event brought together a captivating fusion of architecture, design, and cinematic storytelling from around the world, aimed at inspiring and engaging creative minds.
At the heart of this collaboration was a unique pavilion installation, conceived in partnership with the award-winning Mumbai-based design studio, SHROFFLEÓN. Known for their expertise in bespoke residential and commercial projects, SHROFFLEÓN crafted an installation that drew inspiration from the traditional Indian Baoli. This design seamlessly blended elements of heritage and modernity, showcasing the artistic versatility and aesthetic appeal of stainless steel.
Deepika Jindal, Creative Head and Managing Director of Jindal Lifestyle, shared her thoughts on the installation:
“Stainless steel has always been close to my heart—it’s a material that symbolizes strength, elegance, and endless possibilities. This collaboration resonates with our belief in honoring tradition while embracing modernity. The reflective beauty of stainless steel in this installation creates a mesmerizing interplay of heritage and innovation, embodying the philosophy that drives our brand. Through this pavilion, we’re not just showcasing design; we’re telling a story—a story of craftsmanship, creativity, and the timeless allure of stainless steel.”
The pavilion served as a centerpiece of the festival, embodying Jindal Stainless’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and timeless design. Its monolithic, mirror-finish stainless steel structure created an immersive experience, reflecting both tangible and intangible elements. The inherent properties of stainless steel—durability, corrosion resistance, and adaptability—allowed for intricate craftsmanship, making it an ideal material for this sophisticated installation. Additionally, the sustainable nature of stainless steel was highlighted, aligning with contemporary design trends and offering an eco-friendly solution for architectural excellence.
