Sambhv Steel Tubes Ltd. announced a major expansion of its stainless steel operations in Raipur. The company wants to lift its stainless cold-rolled capacity from 58,000 tonnes to 1,78,000 tonnes per annum. The plan also includes a new cold rolling mill in Raipur.
The company also plans a greenfield integrated steel facility in Kesda. The Kesda unit will raise melting and hot-rolling capacities. These projects will finish by FY’27 and will strengthen captive capacity.
Meanwhile, Sambhv Steel Tubes approved a separate expansion at its Kuthrel Unit in Raipur district. The plan covers its cold rolling mill with a bright annealing line and its continuous galvanising line. Each line now holds a capacity of 58,000 MT per annum. CRM and BA run at 86 per cent utilisation, and CGL runs at 100 per cent utilisation.
The company will add 58,000 MT per annum to each line. Total capacity for CRM+BA and CGL will then reach 1,16,000 MT per annum. The company aims to finish the project by Q4 FY26. It will invest Rs 50 crore in the plan, and it will use internal accruals. The company wants to meet rising captive needs and growing market demand.
