This accreditation followed a rigorous audit of the company’s quality standards and credentials, solidifying Jindal Stainless’ role in India’s defence manufacturing sector.
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, expressed pride in the achievement, noting that it reflects the company’s commitment to supporting India’s defence capabilities through high-quality manufacturing. “This milestone reinforces our dedication to contributing to an Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector. We are continually enhancing our capabilities to meet the stringent requirements of critical defence applications,” he stated in a press release issued by the company.
The accreditation enables Jindal Stainless, Hisar, to manufacture and supply customised stainless steel and specialty low-alloy steel sheets and plates for BrahMos Aerospace’s cruise missiles. The company has a history of supporting significant defence and space projects, including contributions to India’s lunar mission, Chandrayaan and the PSLV and GSLV Mk3 programmes, as well as missile canisters and exhaust units.
Jindal Stainless is one of the few global entities with AS 9100D certification, a quality management standard for aviation, space, and defence organisations. The company recently supplied special alloy steel sheets for the Supersonic Missile-Assisted Release of Torpedo (SMART) system, enhancing the Indian Navy’s anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
