Outokumpu has been recognised as a Leading Company at the ESG Transparency Awards 2024, held during the European Sustainability Week.

Outokumpu has been recognised as a Leading Company at the ESG Transparency Awards 2024, held during the European Sustainability Week. Presented by EUPD Research, this award highlights organisations excelling in sustainability practices and transparent reporting.

Achieving a remarkable score of 87 out of 100, Outokumpu was ranked in the Excellence class and emerged as a winner in the Leading Company category. This accolade reflects Outokumpu’s dedication to embedding sustainability across its operations and fostering open communication about its efforts.

“Our recognition with the ESG Transparency Award demonstrates our commitment to sustainability leadership and driving transparency in the industry,” said Heidi Peltonen, Vice President, Sustainability at Outokumpu. “With a carbon footprint up to 75 per cent lower than the industry average, we actively help our customers reduce emissions and have set ambitious targets to cut our carbon emission intensity by 42 per cent by 2030. Additionally, we prioritise zero safety incidents, diversity, equity, and sustainable supply chains.”

This award is part of the European Sustainability Week initiative, which encourages organisations to adopt sustainable practices and promote transparency.

Outokumpu’s recognition is bolstered by two other awards in 2024. The company received the Sustainability Award in the Governance category from the ICDA for its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and the Highly Commended recognition in the carbon reduction category at The World Sustainability Awards.
