Increasing Capacity in Houston to Aid Action Stainless’s Growth
In order to serve its Action Stainless business, Olympic Steel Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS) has opened a new 105,000-square-foot facility in Houston, Texas. Consolidating assets from its previous location at 7010 Zoltowski Street, the facility at 10111 Houston Oaks Drive expands the operation’s footprint by 73,000 square feet. The company will be able to address the increasing demand for value-added processing by increasing its fabrication capabilities thanks to this development.
Operations at the new location will be supervised by Jeff Lyons, the general manager of the Houston factory. Olympic Steel’s growth strategy for its speciality metals division includes the strategic relocation as a major component. According to Andy Markowitz, president of Speciality Metals, “Action Stainless already enjoys a great reputation as a single source for multiple items on a bill of material.” “We can better serve our customers’ intricate value-added and precision fabrication needs by growing further downstream.”
As a well-known full-line distributor, Action Stainless provides a large selection of items made of stainless steel, aluminium, and speciality alloys. Plate, sheet, angles, rounds, flat bar, tubing, and pipe in different sizes are among them. With modern fabrication capabilities like robotic welding, cutting, forming, shaping, centerless grinding, machining, and numerous finishing services, the company further expands its market presence.
Led by Vice President Jessica Burroughs, Action Stainless runs operations in Dallas, Kansas City, Rock Hill, and now Houston. The new Houston facility supports Olympic Steel’s commitment to offering comprehensive metal processing solutions and addressing the increasing needs of its clients.
With 54 sites across the country, Olympic Steel is a top U.S. metals service centre that was founded in 1954 and has its headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. In order to increase its presence in the metals sector, the firm concentrates on the direct sale and value-added processing of different steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and speciality metal products.
