Jindal Stainless has earned major recognition for its strong commitment to sustainability and energy management. The company’s Hisar and Jajpur plants won the title of ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ at the CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management 2025, held in Hyderabad.

The Hisar plant achieved the honour for its innovations in energy substitution and renewable energy use. It also adopted several process improvements that helped reduce 1,87,341 tonnes of CO₂ in FY25. The plant’s focus on renewable procurement and energy efficiency showcased its dedication to sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, the Jajpur unit stood out for its success in renewable energy integration and zero liquid discharge practices. It achieved a carbon reduction of 1,30,907 tonnes of CO₂ in FY25 through open access renewable sourcing and onsite generation.

Both plants demonstrated measurable environmental impact and strong technical expertise. Their efforts reflect Jindal Stainless’s continued drive towards decarbonisation, innovation, and responsible manufacturing. The company continues to adopt green technologies and digital solutions to improve operational efficiency. It also invests in training and awareness programmes to build a sustainability-focused workforce.

Commenting on the achievement, Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal reportedly said that sustainability is not just checkbox, it forms an integral part of Jindal Stainless’s business ethos, adding that the recognitions reaffirm the company’s belief that industrial growth and environmental responsibility must progress together.

The CII National Energy Management Awards celebrate organisations making notable progress in energy conservation and climate action. With over 140 participants this year, Jindal Stainless’s double win reinforces its leadership in sustainable manufacturing.

Earlier in 2025, the company also received seven honours at the CII National Energy Efficiency Circle Competition. The recognition highlighted its excellence in innovation, ISO 50001 implementation, and carbon reduction initiatives. Through consistent progress, Jindal Stainless continues to set industry benchmarks for sustainable and responsible production in India’s stainless steel sector.
