Jindal Stainless has won the Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability 2025. The company now celebrates this honour as a major milestone in its sustainability journey. Moreover, the award acknowledges its strong commitment to responsible growth and global leadership in sustainable practices. The achievement also inspires broader industry action.
The Golden Peacock Awards, started by the Institute of Directors in 1991, set a global benchmark for corporate excellence. Jindal Stainless continues to align its integrated reporting with global standards. The company also tracks more than 200 ESG KPIs and follows a 3-tier ESG governance model. These steps build accountability across the organisation. Additionally, the company works towards ambitious goals such as a 50 per cent CO₂ cut by 2035 and Net Zero by 2050. It also aims for zero waste to landfill and complete water neutrality.
Recently, the Hisar and Jajpur plants won the title of ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ at the CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management 2025 in Hyderabad. This recognition further strengthens the company’s confidence in its long-term sustainability roadmap.
In September, Jindal Stainless announced a Rs 700 crore plan for new decarbonisation projects. During the same period, it reported a 14 per cent drop in carbon emissions for FY25. The company cut 318,248 metric tonnes of CO₂ compared to FY24. These achievements show its steady progress towards its climate goals.
Jindal Stainless uses electric arc furnace technology to manufacture stainless steel. This method lowers greenhouse gas emissions and supports high scrap recycling levels without affecting quality. The company offers a wide range of products, including slabs, coils, plates, sheets, wire rods, precision strips, rebars, blade steel, and coin blanks.
With this award, Jindal Stainless now reaffirms its mission to create value for people, the planet, and the industry. The company also strengthens its resolve to lead with transparency, responsibility, and innovation.
