A throng of visitors, a plethora of industry stakeholders and the non-stop flow of ideas – that’s one way to describe the opening day of the Global Stainless Steel Expo and Summit 2025, which flagged off on 4th June amidst a big applause from the industry.
The much-anticipated Global Stainless Steel Expo and Summit 2025 welcomed the movers and shakers of the Indian stainless steel fraternity as they gathered under one roof to display latest innovations and exchange forward-looking ideas. The third edition of the Global Stainless Steel Expo (GSSE) 2025 is a multi-faceted B2B event that brings value add-on to everyone associated with the stainless steel sector.
The Expo was inaugurated with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Anitha and Raghunath, Founders, Virgo Communications and Exhibitions, welcomed the distinguished chief guests, such as Ratan Jindal, Chairman and MD, Jindal Stainless; Rolf Schencking, President, Advanced Materials, Outokumpu; Dr Kamachi Mudali, Vice Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute; Pinaki Gupta, Scientist-E and Head, Mumbai Branch, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Rajamani Krishnamurti, President, Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA); Dr Deepak Kumar Gaur, COO, Shyam Metallics; amongst others. The Guest of Honour was SVR Srinivas, CEO and Office Special Duty, Dharavi Slum Redevelopment Authority.
The eager audience benefitted from the speeches of these dignitaries, as they voiced their thoughts on the present and future of the stainless steel industry. In his speech, Jindal said, “I am pleased to be here at the third edition of Global Stainless Steel Exposition. The gathering is proof of the critical role that our industry plays in determining India’s future and the strength of the community of professionals who believe in stainless steel. I appreciate the organisers for creating this platform that celebrates stainless steel products. Their applications and the ecosystem that we have collectively built.”
“I dreamt of bringing world-class stainless steel products and technology to India and becoming one of the leading players in the stainless steel industry globally. It is this belief that led us to experiment, to stumble, but to push through nevertheless in pursuit of establishing it as a material of choice across sectors. Today the stainless steel story is very different and far more exciting. Stainless steel has found its place in every sphere from infrastructure and nuclear power to medical equipment, process industries, renewable energy, and transportation,” he added.
He further elaborated, “We must do more to nurture every link of the stainless steel ecosystem, creating awareness across industry, institutions, and communities. Stainless steel is not just durable and corrosion resistant, it is lightweight, 100 per cent recyclable and built to last. The story needs to be told louder and wider.”
On such a positive and encouraging note, the proceedings of GSSE 2025 were set in motion. The dignitaries launched the GSSE 2025 directory. This was followed by the CEO Roundtable, which led to a healthy exchange of ideas amongst the trailblazers from the industry.
The Expo is hosting the Stainless Steel Summit 2025, which includes more than 50 industry experts, discussing trending issues across a series of panel discussions. There is also a dedicated arena for workshops on welding and fabrications. With more than 150 exhibitors, GSSE 2025 is a melting pot of innovation, ideas, ambitions and solutions that involve stainless steel.
