Jindal Stainless and Indian Oil Extend Strategic Lubricants Partnership for Five Years

Jindal Stainless and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have renewed their lubricants partnership for another five years, reinforcing a long-standing association focused on reliable industrial supplies, technical collaboration and operational efficiency.

The agreement was formally signed at Jindal Stainless’ Hisar unit in Haryana. The ceremony was attended by Hemant Rathore, Executive Director, Northern Region and State Head, DSO, Indian Oil, and Vijay Bindlish, Unit Head – Hisar, Jindal Stainless.

Strengthening Industrial Lubrication and Energy Supply

The renewed agreement continues the organisations’ Lubricants Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) arrangement, supporting the supply of lubricants for Jindal Stainless’ industrial operations.

Commenting on the renewal, Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, highlighted the importance of the companies’ long-standing relationship, citing their shared focus on quality, reliability and technical excellence. He also expressed the company’s interest in exploring further avenues for technical cooperation as industrial requirements evolve.

Hemant Rathore noted that the partnership extends beyond lubricants to cover a broader range of energy requirements. Indian Oil supplies Jindal Stainless with fuels and energy products, including Light Diesel Oil (LDO), High-Speed Diesel (HSD), Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS) and propane.

He added that the renewed arrangement would support continued collaboration through dependable energy supplies and Indian Oil’s SERVO lubricants portfolio, designed for demanding industrial applications.

Supporting Stainless Steel Manufacturing Reliability

Lubrication plays an important role in maintaining industrial equipment, supporting machinery performance and reducing operational disruptions. In stainless steel manufacturing, where production relies on specialised machinery and continuous processing operations, effective lubrication and dependable energy supplies can contribute to equipment reliability and production efficiency.

The renewed partnership also reflects the importance of reliable industrial supply chains in supporting India’s stainless steel manufacturing sector. Consistent access to essential operating materials helps manufacturers manage maintenance requirements, minimise avoidable downtime and maintain production schedules amid evolving industrial demand.

The five-year renewal reinforces both companies’ commitment to dependable supply arrangements and ongoing technical engagement, as manufacturers increasingly prioritise operational efficiency and long-term asset performance.

Jindal Stainless reported an annual turnover of ₹42,955 crore and an annual melt capacity of 4.2 million tonnes in FY2026. Founded in 1970, the company operates stainless steel manufacturing and processing facilities in India and overseas, serving a range of industrial and infrastructure applications.

The renewed partnership with Indian Oil strengthens an established industrial relationship while supporting the operational requirements of one of India’s major stainless steel producers.
