The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) has released preliminary findings in its administrative review of anti-dumping (AD) duties on welded stainless steel pressure pipe imports from India for the period between November 1, 2023, and October 31, 2024.

According to the preliminary results, Indian manufacturer Suncity Metals & Tubes Pvt. Ltd. was found to have sold welded stainless steel pressure pipes in the US market at prices below normal value. The company received a preliminary weighted-average dumping margin of 0.96%.

The USDOC also announced a partial rescission of the review for four Indian companies after their requests for administrative review were withdrawn. These companies include:

• Jindal Saw Limited
• Prakash Steelage Ltd.
• Seth Steelage Pvt. Ltd.
• Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd.

The review is part of the US government’s ongoing anti-dumping measures aimed at ensuring fair trade practices in imported stainless steel products. The findings remain preliminary, and the final determination will be issued after further evaluation, verification procedures, and consideration of comments from interested parties.

India continues to be a major global supplier of welded stainless steel pressure pipes, catering to industries such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy, construction, and process engineering. The outcome of the review is expected to be closely monitored by Indian exporters and global stainless steel market participants.

The development comes amid heightened scrutiny of stainless steel imports into the United States, with trade authorities continuing to assess pricing practices across multiple steel product categories.
