Jindal Stainless announced that its Director, Vijay Sharma, has taken charge as Chair of the Minerals & Metals Committee at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI). He will serve in this role for the presidential year 2025-26.
The Minerals & Metals Committee at PHDCCI drives India’s industrial growth through policy advocacy, sector leadership, and thought leadership. As Chair, Sharma will lead new initiatives to address challenges, explore opportunities, and strengthen the sector’s role in India’s economic progress.
Vijay Sharma currently serves as Director, Corporate Affairs, at Jindal Stainless. With 40 years of corporate experience, he has handled diverse responsibilities in the stainless steel and automotive industries. His work has spanned multiple domains, including corporate affairs, sales, distribution, corporate branding, marketing, business development, and strategy formulation. It has also covered supply chain management, market research, product development, and customer service.
He has also managed the profitability of Jindal Stainless Group’s service centre chains in India and Spain. Moreover, Sharma’s leadership in business analytics, innovation, team building, process optimisation, scalable operations, and business transformation has inspired teams across functions. His consistent ability to develop people and build high-performing teams reflects his strong organisational insight and vision.
Industry experts view Sharma as a leading voice across multiple business areas. He serves on the boards of the Indian Iron and Steel Skill Sector Council, Shalimar Paints, JSL Lifestyle, and Jindal Stainless Steelways Ltd. He also engages actively in initiatives by apex associations such as CII, FICCI, PHDCCI, ICC, ISA, and ISSDA.
Sharma also serves on the Advisory Board of Stainless Today, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the publication’s editorial and strategic direction. In this capacity, he provides valuable guidance on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the stainless steel and metal fabrication industry.
