Fastmarkets proposes new price assessments for stainless steel 409 and 430 sheets, targeting the automotive and white goods sectors.

Fastmarkets has announced a proposal to launch two new price assessments for 400 series stainless steel: stainless steel 409 cold-rolled sheet, FOB mill US, $/cwt, and stainless steel 430 cold-rolled sheet, FOB mill US, $/cwt. These additions aim to enhance Fastmarkets’ offerings and cater specifically to the automotive and white goods industries.

The proposed specifications for the assessments include detailed quality parameters, minimum quantities of 10 tons, FOB US mill as the location, and publication on the 10th of each month or the next business day. Raw material surcharges will be included in the pricing. Subject to market feedback during the consultation period from February 7 to March 7, the official launch is scheduled for April 10.

These assessments will supplement the Fastmarkets physical steel package, providing market participants with more comprehensive data to support decision-making in these key sectors.
