Linde India Limited has commenced commercial production at its newly commissioned Air Separation Unit (ASU) located at the Kalinganagar facility of Jindal Stainless.
The ASU has been established to supply industrial gases required for stainless steel manufacturing, including oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. In addition to meeting the requirements of Jindal Stainless, the facility will also have capacity available to serve demand from the merchant gases market.
According to the company, the unit has a daily production capacity of 1,450 tonnes of oxygen, 1,800 tonnes of nitrogen, and 64 tonnes of argon. The project marks the completion of an industrial gas infrastructure investment first announced in 2022.
The commissioning further strengthens the long-term partnership between Linde India and Jindal Stainless, while increasing the availability of industrial gases for both captive consumption and external customers.
Industrial gases play an important role in steelmaking and metal processing operations, supporting production efficiency and product quality across various stages of manufacturing. The new facility is expected to provide a stable supply of gases to support operations at Jindal Stainless’ Kalinganagar plant.
Linde India stated that the commencement of commercial production has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations.
The development comes as industrial gas producers continue to expand capacity to meet the growing requirements of India’s steel and manufacturing sectors.
