Experts gathered at Latitude 2025, held by IIA-KC on January 24–25, to discuss India’s urban infrastructure issues. Government cooperation and the incorporation of
international design principles for sustainable cities were highlighted at the event.
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India The Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Institute of Architects
(IIA-KC) sponsored the second edition of Latitude 2025 on January 24–25, bringing together
architects, urban planners, and policymakers to discuss India’s urban infrastructure issues.
In order to integrate architectural knowledge and international design standards and build
sustainable cities, experts underlined the necessity of increased government cooperation.
The Chairman of IIA-KC, Ar. Mohan B.R., emphasised the need to include architects in
policymaking and drew attention to the disconnect between architectural education and
practice. In order to enhance infrastructure, Vice Chairman Ar. Mueen Haris recommended
the implementation of global best practices in urban planning.
The IIA-KC Latitude Design Awards 2025, which honours achievement in a range of
architectural categories, were also introduced at the event. Among the winners were Biome
Environmental Solutions, Parallax Architects, Betweenspaces, and Studio Motley.
Latitude 2025, attended by more than 1,000 architects and students, provided a forum for
talks on urban planning and knowledge sharing. The event, which was sponsored by
UltraTech as the award sponsor and PROMINENCE as the title sponsor, reaffirmed how
urgent it is for India to construct sustainable cities.
