Packline Materials new stainless steel equipment unveiled

Packline Materials Handling has introduced a stainless steel roll lifter designed to move wide film and foil rolls with precision, helping industries meet strict hygiene standards while improving safety and productivity.

Built for clean and demanding environments

Packline Materials Handling, in partnership with Ultrasource LLC, has developed a new roll lifter made from high-grade stainless steel. The focus is clear: provide a reliable solution for industries where cleanliness cannot be compromised. This includes sectors such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, medical manufacturing, and fast-moving consumer goods.

The use of stainless steel is central to the design. It is widely recognised for its corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning, making it ideal for cleanroom and high-care environments. The equipment has been carefully engineered to meet strict hygiene regulations while also standing up to regular industrial use.

The equipment is built with stainless steel, which plays a key role in reducing contamination risks and maintaining product quality, especially in sensitive production settings.

Created to solve a real industry problem

The roll lifter was not designed in isolation. It came about after a leading food manufacturer needed a better way to handle large film rolls. Their existing equipment struggled with the increased size and could not provide the reach needed for accurate placement onto production lines.

Packline’s engineering team responded by creating a tailored solution. The lifter includes an extended vertical spindle attachment, which allows rolls to be lifted upright and then smoothly rotated into a horizontal position. This makes it much easier to load rolls directly onto machinery without awkward manual handling.

To further improve safety and stability, the lifter is fitted with extended and widened legs. This helps maintain balance, even when the load’s centre shifts during movement. The machine can handle rolls up to 500 mm in diameter and 1200 mm wide, with a lifting capacity of 70 kilograms.

Designed for ease, safety, and efficiency

The system is fully motorised, covering lifting, lowering, and rotation. This reduces the physical effort required from operators and allows for smoother, more controlled handling. As a result, the risk of workplace injuries is lowered, while efficiency on the production floor improves.

Another key benefit is precision. The design supports accurate alignment when placing rolls, helping to avoid mistakes and reduce downtime. Faster and more reliable handling can make a noticeable difference in busy production environments.

It is often noted that reducing manual handling not only protects workers but also improves operational consistency, which is especially important in industries with strict quality requirements.

Flexible use across industries

The roll lifter is also designed with flexibility in mind. It is compatible with Packline’s Compac range, using a quick-release system that allows attachments to be changed easily. Optional features, such as remote control and geared rotation, can be added depending on operational needs.

Despite its capabilities, the lifter remains compact and easy to manoeuvre, making it suitable for tight spaces and narrow aisles. This makes it a practical choice for a wide range of workplaces.

From food and beverage to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and printing, the stainless steel roll lifter offers a dependable solution for handling large materials safely and hygienically. With this latest launch, Packline continues to focus on developing equipment that meets modern industry demands for cleanliness, efficiency, and worker safety.
