Jindal Stainless has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Xavier School of Management (XLRI) to launch a nine-month HR Competency Development Programme. The initiative will put 25 HR professionals through a structured learning journey, blending academic knowledge with real-world business application to help the company build a future-ready HR function.
As India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer continues to expand its production capacity and customer base, the need for a well-equipped HR team has never been more pressing. This customised programme has been co-created with XLRI and is designed to address that gap directly. Participants will be drawn from both the corporate office and plant locations, ensuring that learning reaches across the entire organisation, not just the head office.
The programme will cover eight core competencies: business acumen, stakeholder management, culture building, strategic thinking, data analytics, design thinking, problem-solving and critical thinking, and change management. It will include 19 interactive sessions of three hours each, five in-person lessons, and internal implementation projects. Sessions will be delivered through a mix of in-person and virtual formats to accommodate professionals spread across different locations.
Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal noted that the strength of any organisation depends on its people and the systems that support them. As Jindal Stainless scales up its operations, building a leadership pipeline that can drive innovation and navigate change becomes a priority.
The MoU with XLRI, he said, is a reflection of the company’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and giving HR professionals the tools they need to lead effectively through the company’s next phase of growth.
Chief Human Resources Officer Sushil Baveja pointed out that HR today goes well beyond traditional functions. The role demands stronger business understanding, better analytical skills, and the ability to work through complex organisational challenges.
The programme has been designed specifically to help HR teams move from operational support roles into strategic business partnerships, making a measurable difference to how the company develops and retains its workforce.
Through this initiative, Jindal Stainless strengthens its broader commitment to workforce development, with a focus on continuous learning, stronger organisational culture, and a working environment where people are encouraged to grow alongside the business.
