India Food Processing Growth

Synergy Steels praises the expansion of the food processing sector in India, which increases demand for stainless steel.

Stainless steel, with its durability, hygiene benefits, and safety features, is driving the expected growth of India’s food processing industry, which is projected to reach a value of USD 700 billion by 2030.

According to a survey by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), the food processing sector in India is predicted to develop at an impressive rate and reach USD 700 billion by 203ynergy S0. Steels has commended this trend. The demand for contemporary food processing facilities is growing, as India is expected to generate almost 345 million tonnes of food yearly by that time.

In order to ensure food safety, prevent contamination, and maintain hygiene, stainless steel is advised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). For handling food, it is the best option due to its resistance to rust, acidic reactions, and odour absorption.

The chairman of Synergy Steels stressed that more than 10.54% of India’s manufacturing Gross Value Added (GVA) comes from the food processing industry. Stainless steel is essential for automated processing lines, storage tanks, and industrial kitchens due to its strength, resistance to corrosion, and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel continues to be a vital component in guaranteeing supply chain food safety and operational effectiveness as the food sector spurs innovation.
