Singapore-based MAC Shipping has commissioned four duplex stainless steel chemical tankers from Xin Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, marking its first foray into newbuilding projects. The vessels, with a capacity of 25,900 DWT, will be delivered from 2026 onwards.
The first tanker, measuring 158.98 meters in length with a beam of 27 meters and a design draft of 9.5 meters, is under construction following steel cutting. Designed with environmental protection in mind, the tankers comply with ABS standards and EEDI Stage 3 requirements. Featuring advanced energy-saving technologies, the vessels are suitable for IMO II & III chemicals and Annex I oil cargos, addressing MAC Shipping’s need for diversified, efficient, and safe transportation.
This project represents Jiangxi Province’s largest high-end stainless steel chemical tanker venture, solidifying Xin Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry’s entry into the high-performance chemical tanker market.
